Winchester Hospice ABBA fundraiser at the Holiday Inn Winchester
Posted: 12th January 2018
A special fundraising event in aid of Winchester Hospice will be held at the Holiday Inn Winchester on Saturday 20th January, to raise funds to provide local palliative and end of life care for local people. The ABBA tribute event will help to raise funds to restore Burrell House, a two storey building within the grounds of the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, to develop a hospice.
This will provide 10 ensuite inpatient beds offering local specialist palliative and end life care for patients with life limiting illnesses, and their families, plus therapy, day services and out patient facilities. The service will incorporate the existing Hampshire Hospitals Home Care Support Team, who currently provide care at home for patients at the end of their life, and will enable a new Hospice@Home service to provide overnight care and support for those most in need in the Winchester area.
Currently there is no hospice provision in the area, and patients requiring hospice care and services travel to Andover, West End or Basingstoke
The ABBA Tribute fundraising event will include a delicious buffet created by the hotel’s 2 AA Rosette award winning team and is included in the ticket price of £25, with all profits going to Winchester Hospice.
