The Ivy Winchester Brasserie Opens

Posted: 24th May 2018

The Ivy Winchester Brasserie has today (Thursday, 24 May) opened its doors for the first time, with General Manager Reza Najafi and his team welcoming Winchester locals and visitors from 8am.

Located within the heart of Winchester at 103-104 High Street, The Ivy Winchester Brasserie offers sophisticated and friendly all-day dining to both residents and visitors alike. With capacity for approximately 150 covers, guests are able to enjoy the main restaurant and bar, as well as an outdoor terrace during the warmer months. The brasserie’s all-encompassing menus offer a wide selection of British classics and internationally-inspired dishes, from the iconic shepherd’s pie to the spoiling chicken Milanese and Champagne afternoon tea. Guests can also enjoy a series of bespoke cocktails including the Martini of Kings & Priests – a classic gin martini made with Winchester’s own Twisted Nose watercress gin and served with a touch of vermouth and pink grapefruit twist.

The critically-acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio consulted on the brasserie’s interiors, as with The Ivy Collection’s sister sites. Notable features include an onyx bar, pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet panel flooring and leather banquettes – all creating a stylish, yet laid-back environment for all-day dining. The Ivy Winchester Brasserie offers a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere, holding back a number of tables each day for locals, visitors and passers-by wishing to drop in at their leisure

The Brasserie is overseen by General Manager, Reza Najafi, who has moved to Winchester following his role as General Manager at Scotland’s oldest oyster bar and seafood restaurant; Café Royal Oyster Bar & Seafood Restaurant in Edinburgh.

Reza Najafi, General Manager at The Ivy Winchester Brasserie, said: “We are delighted to have opened our doors today and welcomed in local residents and visitors to The Ivy Winchester Brasserie. There’s been a huge amount of excitement in the lead up to our opening and we’ve been working hard to create something truly special for the city. Now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests can join us to experience relaxed yet sophisticated, all-day dining, in a beautiful and stylish environment. With summer approaching, our terrace is the perfect spot for al fresco dining in the heart of the High Street.”

The Ivy Collection is a group of restaurants, brasseries and cafés, offering accessible, all-day dining for locals and visitors alike. Each location is carefully handpicked to value, reflect and add to the local area.
