Firm favourite restaurateur back for a second year to Portsmouth Seafood Festival
Posted: 11th June 2018
Well-known Portsmouth restaurateur’s Gary Moreton Jones and Ian Clarke are back for a second year at Portsmouth Seafood Festival, which returns to Gunwharf Quays this summer following the phenomenal success of 2017’s inaugural event.
Ian Clarke and Gary Moreton Jones are the owners of fish and chip favourite -The Fisherman’s Kitchen at Clarendon Road. Ian also runs Southsea Beach Café and Gary is an accomplished chef. Both are great supporters of the Portsmouth Seafood Festival and both restaurants will be part of this year’s line-up.
Ian is also an official sponsor (via The Fisherman’s Kitchen) of the eating and drinking zone, dubbed ‘The Portsmouth Seafood Festival Social Eating Experience’.
Ian has built his business on a love of fish and chips. Without meddling with this great British classic, he set out to cook the best battered fish and chips around. Ian said: “We felt fish and chips didn't just have to be battered or be in the form of cod and haddock, therefore we offer numerous grilled fish and seafood options alongside homemade salads, dips, side options and weekly specials.”
Building upon both the wide-ranging interest and local participation in 2017, this free weekend event, which takes place on June 30 and July 1, celebrates the city’s ancient seafood and fishing heritage.
Portsmouth Seafood Festival is open from 10am to 8pm Saturday and 10am to 7pm Sunday. For more information visit www.portsmouthseafoodfestival.co.uk. For media interviews please contact Jackie Phillipson (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Sian Smith ROUTEpr T 01202 896698 email@example.com
