A Christmas Cracker of a Show!
Posted: 2nd November 2018
Bedhampton choir, Folks in Harmony, will be holding their annual Christmas Show at The Church of the Resurrection in Drayton on Saturday December 1st at 7.30pm. The mixed, close harmony choir, who sing unaccompanied, will be singing some beautiful new songs as well as some old favourite carols and songs.
In recent years, Folks in Harmony have won a number of prestigious awards at both the Portsmouth Music Festival and the Bournemouth Music Festival, so your ears will be in for a treat as they tackle the beautiful arrangements written by, for example, John Rutter and Ben Parry. You will also hear stunning arrangements of ‘When a Child is Born,’ ‘Mary’s Boy Child’ and ‘Gaudete’ to name but a few.
As ever, the main choir will be supported by talented members of the choir providing a lighter offering or playing classical pieces, all to their usual high standard. Refreshments will be provided in the interval featuring home-made mince pies!
Music Co-Director Peter Mumford said, “The choir are working really hard to produce the quality sound and harmonies that our audiences have come to expect. We will be performing several new songs as well as classic carols like ‘Away in a Manger,’ ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ and ‘Silent Night.’ I’m sure it will be a great show!”
Profits from the evening will be donated to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance so there will be the usual fantastic raffle with great prizes.
Tickets are £8 which includes refreshments and can be obtained from www.folksinharmony.co.uk or by ringing 02392 366508.
