Popular Portsmouth restaurant celebrates 10 years

Brasserie Blanc at Gunwharf Quays is celebrating 10 years in the city. The popular restaurant marked the occasion with a drinks reception this week.

Upon opening in 2009, The News called it “the opening of the century in central Portsmouth.” Since then, it has welcomed hundreds of thousands through its doors, and is still just as popular as ever.

Colin Wilding, General Manager at Gunwharf Quays, said: “Brasserie Blanc has become a firm favourite with visitors to the centre, and has complimented our dining offer for 10 years.

“Much like the centre itself, Brasserie Blanc has developed and evolved over the years to offer customers the very best dining experience. We are delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate this special milestone.”

Last year the brasserie underwent a refurbishment inspired by Raymond’s own kitchen, where friends and family gather around the table to celebrate authentic French food. The refreshed space offers plenty of comfortable spaces to enjoy a coffee, a cheese and wine counter and cocktail bar. The main restaurant features handmade ceramics, natural linens and heritage colours to give a relaxed feel. The 24-arm chandelier of glass and brass, brought over direct from France, takes pride of place in the room, offering a touch of luxury.

Today, Brasserie Blanc in Gunwharf Quays offers relaxed dining from breakfast, through to dinner and everything in-between. Guests can enjoy French favourites, including Moules Frites and Escargots, but the latest menu also features internationally-inspired dishes including Lamb Tagine and Malabar Fish Curry.
