Winchester Distillery celebrates Hampshire Heroes

Communities throughout Hampshire have been doing an incredible job over the last couple of weeks, pulling together more than ever to support those in need.

Winchester Distillery has collaborated with several other Hampshire based businesses to create five gift boxes, each worth over £100, as a thank you for some of the special people who have gone above and beyond during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Members of the public can nominate their Hampshire Hero here: www.winchesterdistillery.co.uk/pages/hampshire-hero It could be someone who works for the NHS or emergency services, a care worker, a member of the team at your local supermarket, or neighbour who has started a great initiative to get supplies and support to those who most need it.

Nominations will close on Sunday 26th April, when a small panel of judges, including representatives from charities Winchester Churches Nightshelter and Hampshire Medical Fund, will read through all the heartwarming entries and make the difficult decision of selecting five finalists.

Each will receive a gift box packed with Hampshire-made goodies such as bottles of award-winning Twisted Nose Gin and Winchester Dry Gin, along with gifts from Bee Good, Summerdown Mint, River Coffee Roasters, Hill Farm Juice, Hampshire Jam & Chutney Company and Lixir Tonics.

Paul Bowler, owner of Winchester Distillery in Old Alresford comments: “During these challenging and worrying times it is important to focus on the good, positive things that are happening and to thank those people making it happen. From the outset of Winchester Distillery we have been supported by the fantastic people of Hampshire and I have no doubt that the thriving community spirit here will help get us all through the tough time we are facing.”

Winchester Distillery is donating £250 each to Winchester Churches Nightshelter and Hampshire Medical Fund as a thank you for their time and involvement judging the entries of Hampshire Heroes. Full terms and conditions of the initiative can be found on the web page.
